The awards recognize a commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The awards are:<br><strong><br>Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Samaritan Albany General Hospital<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital<\/strong> \u2013 Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cParticipation in this program is voluntary, ensuring that our care team follows evidence-based care standards for our stroke patients,\u201d said Sarah Vincent, RN, coordinator with the Samaritan Stroke Program. \u201cThis certification utilizes data abstractors to track and analyze each patient\u2019s data during their hospitalization, allowing us to assess the quality of care provided.\u201d<br><br>To qualify for the awards, hospitals must meet specific goals in comprehensive stroke care and quality measures developed to minimize the time between the patient\u2019s arrival at the hospital and treatment using the clot-buster tissue plasminogen activator, or Tenecteplase. When given in the first three hours after the start of stroke symptoms, Tenecteplase has shown to significantly reduce the effects of stroke and lessen the chance of permanent disability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite<\/strong> is when a hospital achieves door-to-need time within 60 minutes for at least 85% of applicable patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll<\/strong> aims to ensure patients with type 2 diabetes receive the most current, evidence-based care when hospitalized with a stroke.
