Attendees in Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, Lincoln City, Newport and virtually online heard an in-depth overview of the planned affiliation, including what it means for access to care, future services and investments. Each presentation was followed by an open Q &amp; A session where community members could share feedback and get answers to their questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSamaritan and MultiCare announced our planned affiliation in October, and these town halls were an important opportunity to meet with people in person and online,\u201d said Cahill. \u201cWe are grateful to everyone who took the time to attend, listen and share their perspectives. Under the affiliation agreement, MultiCare has committed to invest a minimum of $700 million to modernize Samaritan\u2019s facilities, expand primary and specialty care, and provide new technologies and telehealth capabilities to improve patient experience and access \u2014 all while helping lower the cost of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samaritan and MultiCare have submitted a joint application for affiliation to the Oregon Health Authority, beginning a review process that typically takes six months or more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional community town halls will be scheduled in early 2026 as the affiliation process continues.
